Through careful study, assessment, and planning, it has been determined that updates to and an expansion of the chapter house of Kappa Kappa Gamma at the University of Missouri are necessary. The Theta Chapter House Board and undergraduate leadership, working with Scroggs Architecture P.C. in Columbia, have developed a solid plan to address the long-term viability of the Kappa experience at Mizzou.
Through a capital fundraising campaign, the goals of the expansion and renovation are to:
-
Increase the number of women who can live in the house from 88 to 99 in two-woman bedrooms
-
Expand and renovate the kitchen and dining room
-
Improve HVAC, electrical system, and plumbing
-
Provide additional study rooms for individual and group study
-
Expand the chapter room to accommodate the larger membership
-
Update and remodel the house director’s suite
-
Install a handicapped accessible elevator
-
Build a new exterior deck to provide valuable outdoor living space
